Elisabeth was the youngest child of John Gellie and Elisabeth Leask, christened 8 November 1807 in King Edward, Aberdeen.
Records from several Scottish censuses indicate that Elisabeth never married and later in life lived with her brother Stuart and his family on their farm in Aberdeen. She died in 1889 at the age of 81, as witnessed by her nephew James Gellie. Her brother had died in 1878.
